The Best Fried Chicken in Barcelona
If you’re after the BEST fried chicken in Barcelona, then look no further than Dr.Beer & Mr.Fried. These guys really know what they’re doing. Top quality juicy chicken dishes and delicious drinks.
The restaurant is located in Raval, just a five minute walk from La Rambla. A good selection of tunes play in this funky little venue with seating for about 25. Plus more seats outside on the terrace.
Agatha Crispy Burger
As expected the food menu is all about fried chicken. Chicken burgers, chicken waffles or pieces of chicken. All fried in their incredibly tasty homemade batter. For example the Agatha Crispy burger, pictured above, oozing with cheese and topped with streaky bacon.
Fries come with toppings such as cheese and garlic or caramelized onion. And they’re big and crispy. Easily one portion can be shared between two.
Peanut butter and honey waffle
The chicken itself is really good quality. Cut it open and it’s glistening white.
My favourite dish by far is the Gofre cacahuete y miel (Peanut and honey waffle). A perfectly battered chicken breast sitting on a waffle with peanut butter, honey, tajine and jalapeños. What a flavour combination. And yes…it is spicy!
You can also order a very tasty, spicy sauce on the side. And it has one hell of a kick to it. Plus it’s available to purchase and take home with you.
Homemade Cheesecake
Some nice desserts feature on the menu as well. Like, cheesecake or waffle and icecream.
As the name suggests, at Dr.Beer & Mr.Fried, there’s a number of craft beers to choose from. And starting from as low as €3.50 a pint.
There’s a number of cocktails on the menu. Worth mentioning is the Mojito, one of the best I’ve had in Barcelona by a long way, and only costing €6.50.
In conclusion, I’d have to say this place is amazing and does do the best friend chicken in Barcelona. The incredible flavour combinations, the quality chicken and well priced drinks. It’s my new go to place.
Also, fun fact, it’s run by a good friend of world famous MICHELIN starred chef Albert Adrià, of Tickets and el Bulli fame, who can often be seen eating here.
